About

Spark is a blog by people dedicated to building a strong, supportive community in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. At Center for Family Life, we work on a broad range of programs that address pressing issues in the community – from family counseling and foster care to food and advocacy, adult and youth employment services, and cultural, educational and recreational programs for youth and adults at three neighborhood public schools. Our programs, which engage over 13,000 community residents each year, not only connect participants with vital services and supports, but also with each other to develop cohesive social networks.

Spark is a space for the Center’s staff, participants, friends and supporters to share their experiences and information about issues that impact Sunset Park.

Please help our work with feedback on what you would be interested in reading about, and draw our attention to opportunities and resources that we can share with our staff and constituents. Also, please support our community by donating to Center for Family Life.

I got the handout and listened at the meeting but not until today have I thought about the blog. I want to post some thoughts and I don’t know how. I’ve never done this before. How do I post?

Just a little feedback – it is very confusing to figure out how to subscribe to this blog. I joined word press and figured it out through my dashboard – I think – but maybe an easy link from the CFL homepage and this page would be good. Possible? Keep up the great work!

    Hi Jess,
Thanks for your feedback. We just added a new feature to the left sidebar so now you can subscribe to the blog by email. Type in your email address; if you are already a WordPress user, you just have to click the button that says “Sign up for email updates.” Alternatively, you can use the RSS feed link by the orange icon to get blog updates through your feed reader such as Google Reader.
